Business Plan Competition

Business Plan Competition

With deep roots in the Northwest, Biz Kid$ is a national financial literacy initiative that teaches youth about money and business.  Biz Kid$ engages young people and helps them develop life skills in the areas of financial literacy and entrepreneurship. During the 2019-2020 school year, the Northwest Credit Union Foundation is hosting a Biz Kid$ Business Plan Competition for middle school students across Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

The Biz Kid$ Business Plan Competition provides the opportunity for credit unions to partner with local middle schools in providing economic and entrepreneurship education to youth, helping them build a solid financial future. Through this competition, students will showcase their hard work while practicing financial education, entrepreneurial, public speaking, and teamwork skills.  The creation of a business plan truly puts what they have learned in the classroom into action and provides hands-on, outcomes-based financial education to the students.

This program will provide students with an opportunity to explore their business ideas and challenge their peers across the region. Teachers will get access to a 12-week curriculum, educational videos, and a credit union partner who will join their classroom to provide financial and real-world advice for students on their business plans throughout the semester.

The Northwest Credit Union Foundation’s 2019-2020 Biz Kid$ Business Plan Competition is made possible, in part, by support from the National Credit Union Foundation.
