With deep roots in the Northwest, Biz Kid$ is a national financial literacy initiative that teaches youth about money and business.  Biz Kid$ helps young people develop life skills in the areas of financial literacy and entrepreneurship. The Northwest Credit Union Foundation is proud to support credit unions in offering Biz Kid$ to students across Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

During the 2020-2021 school year, the Northwest Credit Union Foundation has adapted the Biz Kid$ Program to be compatible with a virtual learning environment and expanding the program options for both middle and high school students. For those who work with Hispanic populations, a curriculum with Spanish lessons will also be available.

Through this program, students will have the opportunity to build their financial management skills,  learn the steps to start a business, and explore their business ideas. Teachers will get access to an 8 or 12 lesson curriculum, educational videos, and a credit union partner who will join their classroom to assist in lesson activities and real-world advice for students throughout the semester. For teachers interested in hosting an entrepreneurship competition amongst their students, the Foundation has resources to support their classrooms.

The Northwest Credit Union Foundation’s 2020-2021 Biz Kid$ Program is made possible, in part, by support from the National Credit Union Foundation.
