Expanding opportunity and access to the economy |
The Northwest Credit Union Foundation strives to create equitable access for individuals, families, and small businesses so that they may successfully participate and contribute to their local economies. We focus our economic empowerment work on decreasing barriers to workforce housing, advancing small business growth, and supporting community-based solutions to workforce development. The Foundation serves as a catalyst for credit union-led initiatives, partnering to tackle the financial barriers that stand in the way of economic mobility for their members. We work alongside credit unions to incubate, and then scale or replicate solutions for our Northwest communities who may be disproportionately vulnerable to economic instability.
We support credit unions and community partners that are committed to implementing solutions to housing barriers for the workforce. From stakeholder collaboration to building loan reserve funds, we partner with credit unions in a variety of ways to tackle this issue.
Biz Kid$ provides an opportunity for credit union employees to engage in their local middle school classroom around business planning and financial education. Teachers will get access to educational materials and resources to support their students’ learning about financial health and entrepreneurship.
We are partnering with credit unions to advance small business development in local communities throughout the Northwest. If your credit union is interested in providing innovative solutions to grow small businesses in your community, please submit your interest below.
