Northwest Credit Union Foundation (NWCUF) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to identifying and nurturing partnerships that bring together Northwest credit unions, community organizations, and nonprofits to improve and grow the regional economy. Our mission is to cultivate opportunities and develop leaders that improve the well-being of our communities we serve. We provide credit unions and community partners with support that promotes asset building, economic empowerment, and cooperative development, and believe these focus areas contribute to long term sustainability for the Pacific Northwest and for credit unions making investments in their members and communities.

Asset Building

Credit unions help our most underserved communities work towards self sufficiency. A key factor in achieving this growth is through asset building and education. We recognize the Pacific Northwest credit unions’ stewardship as financial educators, providing a pathway for  individuals and families out of poverty.

Economic Empowerment

When communities thrive, credit unions thrive. Economic empowerment means individuals and families have access to housing, job skills, and small business acumen. We support our Pacific Northwest partners who ensure affordable housing and workforce development availability and accessibility, in addition to advancing small business growth.

Cooperative Development

The cooperative spirit of “people helping people” not only lives within the Pacific Northwest credit union movement, but throughout the larger cooperative community. We are proud to support locally owned and operated organizations that share our philosophy. Through employee development and community engagement initiatives, we support their contributions to creating sustainable local economies.
